ROSE & KAKAW MYLK
The rose has been calling so much lately aligning with May the season of roses and the major shifts happening within.
Softening, flowing, taking the form of water more and more, surrender, feeling nurtured by the feminine energies and feeling so blessed to be re-born in this sacred female body.
Roses and kakaw two potent plant spirit allies filled with feminine plant medicine. Opening the heart and allowing the emotions and feelings of love and softness to flow around the body.
This is how I love to prepare mine especially in the morning to honour the energy of each new day.
ROSE + KAKAW MYLK
INGREDIENTS
250 ml oat mylk
3 - 4 teaspoons raw cacao powder
10 - 15 g ceremonial cacao paste
dried rose petals _ feel how much your body needs // I would suggest a pinch or two (about 10 - 20 petals)
OPTIONAL: some honey and a dash of sea salt flower
EXECUTION
+ In a pan, over medium to low fire, gently infuse the oat mylk with the dried rose petals by warming it until it foams lightly. Take care to take it off fire before boiling.
+ Covered the pot and let it steep for at least 10 minutes to half hour.
+ Sieve the rose infused mylk to discard the rose petals (you could give them to the earth or the a plant in your home as nourishment).
+ Transfer the rose mylk back to the pan, add the raw cacao powder and the ceremonial cacao paste.
+ I let it warm up but don’t boil it and stir well until most of the cacao is well dissolved in the rose mylk.
+ Remove it from fire and use a mayan molinillo whisk or a frother to further emulsify the cacao into the rose mylk and to add the element of air in your drink while infusing it with your prayers and intentions.
Give some of your rose kakaw drink to the earth or to a plant in your home thanking the Earth for the gifts. Enjoy it while feeling that with every sip you are taking in your intention and prayers while giving your body what is needed 🤍🌹
Much love,
Alexandra
NOTES: Everything carries a specific energy especially food ingredients. It is an indication of how these food ingredients were produced, grown and handled from the very beginning until it reaches your home. Take care that your ingredients are grown organically and ethically. Make sure the rose petals are grown and collected locally where you are or collected and foraged by you. Make sure that the cacao is grown ethically or from local communities and families guardians of cacao. In this case, when you are purchasing their products you are actually helping the local communities to sustain themselves and grow.
